System Requirements

Analyst is designed to run on Microsoft Windows 2000, XP or Vista.

Analyst requires approximately 14MB of disk space, and at least 512MB of RAM

Installation

Analyst can be installed on either a standalone PC for a single user or on a network for access by multiple users simultaneously, depending on your user agreement. In either case you will require an internet connection to activate the software. Both installation and activation require administrative access rights.

Standalone PC

To install Analyst on a standalone PC for access by a single user, it is necessary only to run the setup program, and then activate the software using the supplied product key. When you start the software for the first time, simply select the Configure as a standalone program option and then enter your product key in the space provided. If you do not have a product key, then please contact us for assistance.

Network

To install Analyst for use by multiple users simultaneously, you will first need to download the CopyMinder Network Manager for installation on a Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 server on a local drive. This software controls simultaneous network users accessing your software. You will require administrative access rights to install this software. Once installed, a help file will be displayed describing how to configure the software. You will then need to supply your product key when prompted by the CopyMinder Network Manager software.

Once the CopyMinder Network Manager has been installed successfully and you have entered your product keys, you can proceed and install Analyst on either a shared network drive or individual workstations. Although Analyst can be installed on a shared network drive, please be aware that the associated help files can not be run from a network drive due to security measures present in Windows since XP SP 2. You will require administrative access rights to install Analyst. When you run the software for the first time, select the Configure as a network client option, and then enter the CopyMinder Network Path (not your product key!) in the space provided.

Troubleshooting

If you receive any errors when activating your software, a list of the error numbers can be found here.

Security

The installation consists of a digitally signed setup file. You can trust that the initial download and any subsequent updates are 100% secure. Downloads and updates can be managed centrally and then distributed to your users securely, according to your existing company policy. Developer executables are also digitally signed.

Licensing for the software is handled by a product called CopyMinder.

Your software must be activated using a supplied product key as described in the installation section.

Once activated, Analyst will require periodic internet access to remain active. More details on this process can be found here.
